Is coliving in Krakow a good option for students?
Krakow has plenty of universities, and in September, finding a place to live can genuinely be tough. So this question comes back here every year. Shed Coliving Krakow is located at Aleja 3 Maja 51A (30-062), in the central part of the city. Security and reception operate around the clock, seven days a week. Then there’s the 17 m² compact for PLN 2,750, the classic for PLN 2,900, or the premium single for PLN 3,400. This spread makes sense. A room shared with someone else works out considerably cheaper than a studio on your own, so there’s something to fit almost any budget.
And what’s waiting on site? A gym, a cinema room, a games zone, a yoga studio, a dining area with a kitchen. There are study zones, and a Żabka shop operates on the ground floor. When your day is mostly split between classes and studying, that kind of setup can save a lot of running around the city. Plenty of things can be sorted without even leaving the building.
Contracts and the academic calendar in Krakow
Contract flexibility is one thing that sets coliving apart from a regular rental. In Krakow, you decide: short-term, or longer, for 10 or 12 months. A student usually cares about one thing — matching the length of the lease to the academic year. The 2026/2027 academic year runs from 21 September 2026 to 9 July 2027. A ten-month contract therefore covers exactly that period, and you don’t pay for the summer months if you’re not staying for the summer.
Is coliving in Warsaw a good option for students?
In the capital, the logic is similar, except Shed Coliving runs two separate buildings here. That gives you more choice in terms of location and price. The first, Sky Living, is at Żwirki i Wigury 31 in Ochota. Prices start from PLN 1,999 a month. The 16 m² compact is priced from PLN 3,049, the 18–21 m² classic from PLN 3,249, and the larger 21–27 m² large from PLN 3,449. A spot in a twin studio — the shared option — goes from PLN 2,099 per person.
The second is Campus Living, at Smyczkowa 3 in Mokotów. Here, the 16 m² economy compact starts from PLN 2,999, the premium costs between PLN 3,099 and 3,149, and the economy bunk twin is available from PLN 1,800 per person. Having two locations is a purely practical matter. You take whichever is closer to your university, or whichever better fits your daily schedule.
At both Warsaw buildings, the studios are fully furnished. Reception and security operate around the clock, and all utility bills, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning are included in the price. Study zones and coworking space are available on site, which can matter for those combining studies with work. Contracts and semesters in Warsaw
Contracts in Warsaw cover both the whole academic year and single semesters. The winter semester runs from September 2026 to February 2027, and the summer one from February to July 2027. On top of that, there are individual terms and short-term stays. As in Krakow, the price includes utility bills, Wi-Fi, and furniture. You move into a ready-made room and pay a single rate.
Coliving against the backdrop of the wider student housing market
Student rentals in big cities have carried the same problems for years. Too few places in September. Utility bills that keep rising. Uncertainty about what kind of contract terms you’ll end up with.
